EQUESTRIAN Holidays
Horse Riding Breaks - Great Relaxtion or a "Busmans Holiday"?
This a difficult one. If you are a horse owner, as much as we love and cherish our animals, it is nice to get away from them. Having said that , the though of cantering along a deserted beach in the evening sunshine takes a bit of beating
If you use a local riding club, the equestrian holiday can be a great way to get the experience of ownership if you are unable to commit to this all year round.
To make sure you have the holiday of your dreams, be clear on what you want from your holiday - is it a few rides and lots of relaxation by the pool, or 24x7 intensive horse riding and management, whatever the weather?
If you are thinking of a riding holiday, here are just a couple of hints
- Check how much "hands on" time you get with the horse when not riding
- How experienced a rider are you, and more to the point, how experienced does the travel company think you are.
- Make sure your holiday insurance covers riding.
- Check if you need your own safety equipment
